about

“A Thousand Little Things was built around a single line that I scribbled in a notebook on the night of August 15, 1988, the night I met my wife. It’s a simple pop song, but it’s as heartfelt as anything I’ve written.”

lyrics

In the park I saw you standing there
With your shy smile and long dark hair
And I can still remember the dress you wore
The way you moved and so much more
There were a thousand little things

There were a thousand little things
A thousand little things
A thousand little things
That stole my heart

I remember your lips and your hazel eyes
The way you turned the heads of all the guys
And I remember the hat that you had on
The way you hummed that Beatles song
There were a thousand little things

There were a thousand little things
A thousand little things
A thousand little things

Right there and then I knew
How much I needed you
And I had to make you see
That you needed me

I remember your laugh and the dress you wore
The way you moved and so much more

There were a thousand little things
A thousand little things
A thousand little things
That stole my heart
